“Break coverage used to be easy. I used to have two or three extra people, but now there’s no wiggle room. Everything is rigid and tight,”
Evan Hallman, Unionized Sodexo Employee
“I want to tell people, ‘Your raise more than covers the dues.’ But that doesn’t take into account the hour cuts.”

Other dining workers report having to reapply for their jobs after the union contract went into effect. Some dining workers lost their previous positions and were moved into roles they didn’t want.
Dining workers aren’t alone. Other Workers United members in Pennsylvania report a similar bait-and-switch.
“Workers United union officials have been bad for the stability of Good Karma and have not stood up for the interests of me and my coworkers.”
Marco Camponeschi, employee at unionized Good Karma Cafe
“I can’t speak on behalf of all of the unionized stores, but I do know for our store, the initial inclusivity that was kind of projected has turned into being the complete opposite. We thought we would have a voice, but we really don’t because no one’s in communication with us.”
